Stefano Papazian (researcher in plant physiology and chemical ecology)
Stefano Papazian, born and raised in Milano, is a researcher in plant physiology and chemical ecology. After a BSc degree in environmental biotechnology at the University of Milano, he moved to Stockholm University (Sweden), where he continued his education focusing on the relationship between plants and the environment in an ecological framework. He then obtained his MSc degree while working at the Leipzig (Germany) at the Helmholtz Research Institute for Environmental Research, with a final thesis on plant root symbiotic interaction with nitrogen-fixing bacteria in the soil. Later, Stefano moved to northern Sweden, at the Umeå Plant Science Centre, where he performed his PhD on the study of plants and insect interaction, sponsored by the European Science Foundation. During the period of his PhD, Stefano has collaborated with several major universities in different European countries, including Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Finland. The main specialization of Stefano´ research consists in applying state-of-the art techniques of metabolomics – i.e. the full screening of all chemical compounds produced by an organism – to investigate the variability of plant metabolism and eventually understand how plants can adapt and interact in their environment. Currently, Stefano works at the Helmholtz Institute for the Ocean Research in Kiel (Germany), to study a fascinating marine plant in a projects that combines cutting edge techniques of metabolomics and “mass-spectrometry imaging”.

Invernomuto (artist)
Simone Bertuzzi (b. 1983) and Simone Trabucchi (b. 1982) have been collaborating as Invernomuto since 2003. Although their work focuses primarily on the moving image and sound, they also integrate sculpture, performance and publishing into their practice. Invernomuto explores what remain of subcultures by moving through different media. Observed through unashamedly affected eyes, oral cultures and minor histories are laid open, their vernacular forms examined. Inauthentic materials play a fundamental role within this process, emphasizing the fictitious realities that inspire them. Bertuzzi and Trabucchi have developed individual lines of research into sound with the outlets Palm Wine and STILL, respectively.
